At MS Electrical we specialise in ensuring that your home and working environment are as safe as they can be. At home, we provide a full range of domestic electrical services, including installation, fixed installation testing and fire alarm testing. At work, we have extensive experience of providing high-quality testing and inspection services for all electrical wiring to enable you to meet the legal requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and BS7671:2018. We specialise in undertaking PAT testing in Cambridge, Ely and Newmarket and fixed wire testing in Cambridge, Ely and Newmarket.
Our experience is backed up with a host of qualifications. We're an NICEIC-approved contractor for fixed installation testing (Electrical Installation Condition Reports, electrical equipment testing (PAT testing), and we're also registered under the NICEIC domestic installer scheme. Founded in 1956, NICEIC has been the UK’s independent voluntary electrical regulatory body for over 50 years. NICEIC is regarded as the leading industry standard for assessing electrical contractors. NICEIC inspects approved contractors to ensure all works undertaken conform to BS7671:2018 Requirements for Electrical Installations. The accreditation is voluntary, which demonstrates that at MS Electrical Services we’re committed to providing our clients with the highest industry standards.
SAFEcontractor is a third-party Health & Safety vetting company which operates an accreditation scheme, and MS Electrical is also approved under this scheme. Companies must meet stringent Health & Safety working practices in order to become a SAFEcontractor.
Engineer qualifications
All MS Electrical testing engineers have a full working knowledge of the electrical installation field prior to undertaking a career in electrical testing to enable us to provide a full and concise inspection and testing report on all installations to the highest level of safety standards:
- City & Guilds 2382-10 level 3 certificate in the requirements for electrical installations (BS7671:2018 18th Edition)
- City & Guilds 2360 electrical installation competences parts one and two including AM1 and AM2
- City & Guilds 2391 inspection, testing, design and certification of electrical installations Level 3 (fixed wire testing)
- City & Guilds 2377/2 in service inspection and testing of electrical equipment (PAT testing)
- JIB Vocational Qualification 050 electrical installation
